We are just back from our annual camping trip with family and friends. The group continues to grow, but with that new friendships are created, more laughs, more fun is had.
Weather worked for us this year. Sunny days with cool evenings allowed for campfires each evening which is always welcome. I so enjoy this weekend and we look forward to it all year.

Already booked for 2020 😀

40 Years...

Guy and I attended our 40th High School reunion this past weekend. It was surreal to see so many that I have actually known for over 50 years. This reunion was particularly special as it marked 10 years since Guy and I reconnected “in the real world” and started a friendship that ended with us finally together.

The weekend was a two part gathering. Friday Night was open to anyone, no matter when they graduated at The Harbour Grill. That was so special as we saw some folks we didn’t graduate with, but also had not seen in many, many years, maybe even all the way back 40. Saturday night was the main event. I may be bias since I helped plan it but I think it was our best yet. Great location, food was so good, music was perfect. There were smiles, hugs, laughter, tears all evening. I am not sure if I will help plan the next one as we live so far away but Guy and I will definitely be there.

Shelby's Married

Shelby (Guy’s youngest daughter) got herself hitched last weekend and we are so happy for her and love her choice of a husband. Trevor is fantastic and a welcomed addition to the family.

The wedding took place on the top of the mountains in SW Virginia, not far from where Shelby and Trevor met (Radford University) and just down the road from Trevor’s family home. Her dream of a barn wedding came true and it was so perfect for them. She planned every part of the wedding and rehearsal dinner herself and did a fantastic job. She should hire herself out for these types of celebrations. The rains held off, it was a bit breezy and much colder than anticipated but she and the bridal party took that in-stride. Once the ceremony and pictures (both outdoors) were done it was inside the barn hall for a great old fashion BBQ meal, drinks and dancing before the couple headed out on their way to a wonderful life.

We are so very happy for these two and wish them all the happiness in the world.

How Did He Get to Be One Already

Can’t believe we just spent the weekend celebrating this little (well not so little) one’s first Birthday. Benjamin you bring so much light, laughter and love into our world. We are so blessed to have you as our first grandson. We love you to the moon and back three times over and then even a bit more!!

RV Road Trip To the Smokies - Clingman's Dome Trail

It was a very cool and foggy morning for a hike so we bundled up and headed out to Clingman’s Dome trail taking us to the highest viewpoint in the Smoky Mountains.

While this is a short hike, a half mile only, it was very stressful, straight up hill. We were not prepared for it to be truthful. Thank goodness they have resting benches as we and many others needed them :)
