RV Road Trip To the Smokies - Clingman's Dome Trail

It was a very cool and foggy morning for a hike so we bundled up and headed out to Clingman’s Dome trail taking us to the highest viewpoint in the Smoky Mountains.

While this is a short hike, a half mile only, it was very stressful, straight up hill. We were not prepared for it to be truthful. Thank goodness they have resting benches as we and many others needed them :)

RV Road Trip To The Smoky's - Cades Cove

Finally finding some time to get caught up with things including editing the remainder of our spring trip to the Smoky Mountains.

In this video we head to Cades Cove which was just as beautiful and amazing as we had been told by so many it would be. Definitely a place we will visit every time we head back to the Great Smoky Mountains. Hope you enjoy watching.

Our Day on Lake Gaston

Originally we were heading out for a long holiday weekend of camping but due to the events of the past few weeks I decided I wanted to stay at home for the earlier part of the weekend so from Wed - Friday that is exactly what we did. We stayed home, cleaned out closets, cleaned carpets and enjoyed the pool.

Saturday though we had promised to visit friends who own a home on Lake Gaston (on the Virginia/NC border) and Guy thought it was best for me to get out of the house and do something different so early Saturday morning we headed to the Lake. It is just a three hour drive and holiday traffic was our friend so no delays were to be had and after stopping for a quick breakfast we arrived to a beautiful day, beautiful home and beautiful lakefront to enjoy for the next day and half.

We had a fantastic time just watching the kids (and a few adults) enjoy all the water toys while we caught up, had some drinks, enjoyed the fantastic sunny weather and just relaxed. We also were taking out for a boat ride (video below) to see the lake as I had never been there before. Anyone who knows me knows that boating is one of my favorite things and I would do it every weekend if possible so I jumped on the chance to go for the ride.  I was not disappointed :)

A new view

The wood pile was never suppose to be where it is located.

When our lot was cleared the builder made a decision to place it where it was, without asking me and it ruins the sight line out our dining room window. Everyone who comes to my house knows how much I hate it.

We are working to burn/cut/have carted away as much as we can, as quickly as we can but still it remains a huge eyesore. That was until the other night when I caught a glimpse out the window that provided a new view of the pile.

She found the corn we have out for the squirrels. I loved watching her and will be putting more corn out in that area with the hopes she comes back soon.
